As students arrived on campus, prefects led them to their residence halls, where they will be living for the next two weeks. They unpacked, explored their new surroundings, and introduced themselves to their fellow attendees. Though most are now strangers, they will spend the next two weeks together living in community, engaging in deep conversations about the Great Books, experiencing the spiritual life of the College, and forging new friendships with each other.
The Summer Program prefects are just as eager as the students for the program to begin! “We’re all so excited to spend this time with you, to play sports with you, do your readings with you, and have good conversations with you,” said head womens’ prefect Elena Walz (’26).
Later today, the students will gather for a campus tour, opening barbeque, and orientation meetings before jumping into tomorrow’s first day of classes. A recap of this evening's events, along with photos, will be posted tomorrow morning here on the Summer Program Blog. Be sure to come back throughout the program for twice-daily updates!
