Paul Dinan (’23)

Rising senior and 2022 High School Summer Program Prefect Paul Dinan became interested in Thomas Aquinas College early in life, and for one principal reason. “I came to TAC because I wanted the academic rigor that I knew I wouldn’t find anywhere else,” he says. “It has been challenging and deeply satisfying since day one.”

But it wasn’t only the intellectual challenge that drew Paul to TAC’s  Eastern campus. “Why the stately Connecticut River Valley over the beaches of California?” he asks rhetorically. “To be a pioneer, of course, and to have the adventure of bringing this education across the country!”

Paul worked as a prefect on both of last year’s Summer Programs, East and West, but that wasn’t his only role. “I served as a journalist as well as a prefect for last year’s Summer Programs,” he notes — writing the posts that appear on this blog throughout the two weeks, and which give parents and others a glimpse of the campus goings-on. “It was an incredible month.”

Paul’s facility with writing is matched by his enthusiasm for conversation. “Helping to give others a glimpse of the incredible life we have here at the College is a great joy. I am most looking forward to having many one-on-one conversations with the programmers and learning all about them.”

Lest attendees get the impression that Paul is prone to spend the entirety of his days sitting in conversation or poised with pen in hand, he is also an eager musician and athlete. “I love everything music — piano, organ, guitar, trumpet, voice. I will also never refuse anyone a game of tennis, or a few rounds of pull-ups and push-ups in the gym.” With a merry glint in his eye, he adds, “I also love stargazing.” He will be happy to share any of his multifarious loves this summer.
