The Taco Dinner: A Last Hurrah for Graduating Seniors and their Families
On the evening prior to Commencement, members of the California Class of 2022 gathered with their families in St. Joseph Commons for a taco dinner sponsored by Thomas Aquinas College’s Alumni and Parents’ Associations. Robert Bagdazian, Director of Alumni and Parent Relations, steered the event, which featured remarks from several parents of graduating seniors, including Parents’ Association Advisory Council President Paula Cummings and Alumni Association Advisory Council President Raymond Tittmann (’94).
Several graduating seniors and recent alumni also contributed to the evening. Senior Class President Mary Pipes (’22 offered some warm words of welcome to the guests; Samantha Flanders (’15) represented alumni coffee-roasters Verso l’Alto, raffling a sampler pack of their best roasts; and Anna Santine (’22) directed the student choir Chrysostomos for the last time to conclude the event before a final prayer, led by parent Joanne Dowdy, and benediction from College chaplain Rev. John Mary Chung.
