Dozens of Thomas Aquinas College students traveled to Downtown Los Angeles on Saturday for OneLife LA — the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ annual event to promote the beauty and dignity of all human life. Pictures from the event are available in the slideshow below:

The student contingent made the 70-mile trip to L.A. along with Director of Admissions Jon Daly and Admissions Counselor McCann. There they were joined by numerous TAC alumni. Michael Van Hecke (’86) can be seen in one of the photos above. And Jorge Moncada (’18) — now studying for the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles — was on hand, wearing a “Seminarians for a Culture of Life” t-shirt. “What impresses me most about this is seeing the little kids, who are learning from their parents to speak up and protect us from something that’s such an evil,” he told Angelus News. “They are the next generation, the pro-life generation, the ones who will defend life in the world.”

At least one member of the Board of Governors was also present. With his fellow Knights of Malta, Michael K. Grace was there distributing packets of sunscreen to walkers. The Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Most Rev. José H. Gomez, and the College’s regional auxiliary bishop, the Most Rev. Robert E. Barron,— both previous TAC Commencement speakers — were also part of the festivities.

“The students carried our banner high and did  a wonderful job of representing the College and helping out with the Walk,” says Mr. Daly. They even caught the attention of EWTN, which remarked, via its Twitter feed, “Wonderful to see young people standing up to defend the most vulnerable in our society!”

Dr. Jean Rioux

“If you come to the College with any spark of faith at all, it’s fanned into flames. That’s certainly what happened to me.”

– Dr. Jean Rioux (’82)

Chair of the Department of Philosophy, Benedictine College

“With an academic program as rigorous as Thomas Aquinas College’s, and with a long line of successful alumni, Thomas Aquinas College is essential to the health of our Church in the United States and beyond.”

– The Most Rev. Thomas Daly

Bishop of Spokane
