Students at Fall Open House

Anticipation is growing for the November 14-16 Open House for High School Juniors and Seniors in picturesque Northfield, Massachusetts. The event promises to provide an immersive experience for prospective students eager to learn more about the College’s unique intellectual and spiritual life.

A Highlight of the Weekend: The Great Books Seminar

One of the standout features of the weekend will be the opportunity for participants to engage in a seminar discussion led by the College’s own tutors (teaching faculty). Attendees will join in a lively exploration of a reading from St. Thomas Aquinas, experiencing firsthand the Discussion Method, which defines the Thomas Aquinas College classroom experience. Each participant will receive a copy of the reading upon arrival, ensuring that students have all they need to take part in the discussion — no advance preparation is required.

“The seminar is a hallmark of our program,” says John Jost, New England director of admissions. “It’s an opportunity to encounter a great thinker in a collaborative and thoughtful environment. We hope the students will walk away with a deeper appreciation for the kind of intellectual community that the College fosters.”

What Participants Can Expect

The Fall Open House will provide a comprehensive overview of life at Thomas Aquinas College, blending academic, social, and spiritual experiences. Attendees will:

  • Attend classes, witnessing how students engage deeply with the texts of the Western tradition.
  • Join presentations on the College’s distinctive curriculum and Catholic character, with opportunities to ask questions of both tutors and current students.
  • Experience the vibrant campus life, including recreational activities, a student dance, and athletic games.
  • Be hosted by current students, with residential accommodations provided, including a cot, bedding, and towels to make their stay as comfortable as possible.

As part of the College’s commitment to fostering a close-knit and faith-filled community, there will also be daily opportunities to attend Mass and pray the Rosary alongside students, tutors, and staff.

For Families

On Saturday, November 16, families are invited to join the community for the 11:30 am Mass in Our Mother of Perpetual Help Chapel, followed by lunch in Gould Commons. This final day of the Open House provides a wonderful opportunity for parents to connect with faculty and staff, gaining deeper insight into what the College has to offer.

Limited Spots Still Available

Space for the Open House is filling up fast, but a few spots still remain. Interested students are encouraged to RSVP soon to secure their place.
