Spring Career Fair

Thomas Aquinas College’s Spring Job Fair came at just the right time for California students discerning plans for the future, whether short-term summer goals or long-term ambitions for after graduation. At the fair, held last Saturday in St. Cecilia Hall, representatives of 25 different graduate schools, businesses, and nonprofits set up booths to speak with both upper- and underclassmen about the many options open to them.

Visiting a variety of booths, students discussed their plans and interests with employers and learned about different fields from professionals with firsthand experience. They spoke with representatives of postgraduate programs in law, business, and flight instruction; visited with business representatives about employment opportunities in various fields, including finance, sales, manufacturing, construction, education, and law; and learned about the mission of nonprofit groups such as FOCUS and Students for Life of America. Many students also set up introductory interviews with employers, which took place in classrooms after the fair.

Throughout the day, attendees took full advantage of the resources the Job Fair made available, connecting with professionals in their fields of interest and discovering the many paths available to them as liberally educated students.

“The career fair is a great opportunity to brush up on professional skills such as networking and interviewing, applying what we do every day in the classroom to a different arena,” said Trinity Chester (’25). “It really emphasizes the wealth of opportunities that are available to multidisciplinary students. Our skills can be applied to so many fields, and it’s a blessing to get to explore those potential options.”
