College Bids Grateful Farewell to
Bishop Rozanski

Posted: June 10, 2020

His Holiness Pope Francis has named the Most Rev. Mitchell T. Rozanski — Bishop of Springfield, Massachusetts, the home diocese of Thomas Aquinas College, New England — as the new Archbishop of St. Louis, Missouri.

“We wish Archbishop-elect Rozanski well as he guides his new flock in St. Louis, and we thank him for the faithful leadership he has provided for the last six years in Springfield,” says President Michael F. McLean. “We will never forget the kindness he showed Thomas Aquinas College as we worked to open our New England campus, or the way he graciously welcomed us to his diocese.”

Last summer His Excellency presided at the inaugural Convocation ceremony on the East Coast campus, offering the Mass of the Holy Spirit and addressing students and their families at the matriculation ceremony. “Today, Thomas Aquinas College opens a new chapter to this Northfield property, bringing our Catholic faith to this place in a truly unique and faith-filled way,” he said in his homily. “Relying on the promise of Jesus to be with us always, and knowing of a deep hunger for the truth of the Gospel message and the presence of Jesus in our world, this campus will serve as a place to enlighten the minds and hearts of young Catholics so that they, too, from here, may go out to witness to the power of Jesus at work through them.”

Now it is once more His Excellency’s turn to “go out” and witness to the power of Jesus. Please keep him in your prayers!
