Thomas Aquinas College is unique among American colleges and universities, offering a faithfully Catholic education comprised entirely of the Great Books and classroom discussions.
Truth, and nothing less, sets men free; and because truth is both natural and supernatural, the College’s curriculum aims at both natural and divine wisdom.
The intellectual tradition and moral teachings of the Catholic Church infuse the whole life of Thomas Aquinas College, illuminating the curriculum and the community alike.
Do you enjoy grappling with complex questions? Are you willing to engage in discussions about difficult concepts, with the truth as your ultimate goal?
There is always something to do at TAC — something worthwhile, something fulfilling, and something geared toward ever-greater spiritual and intellectual growth.
With Lent just around the corner, the juniors of Thomas Aquinas College helped their fellow students celebrate Mardi Gras this past Saturday with dances on both coasts.
In New England, the juniors transformed Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati Student Center into a galaxy far, far away, hanging sparkly star decorations and twinkling string lights under a detailed model of the solar system. Students entered to the Star Wars anthem and sampled cupcakes and fruit punch while enjoying a student-made mockumentary, which opened a window onto the inner thoughts of various juniors during classes.
Then the dancing took off! The centerpiece was a foxtrot competition, in which Bridget Stoutz (’23) and Stephen Brown (’25) carried first, with Tanner Sheffield (’23) and Therese Baker (’25) in second and John Kaifala (’26) and Laura Castillo (’26) in third.

The juniors in California, meanwhile, brought a luscious “Rainforest Café” theme to the Fritz B. Burns Auditorium in St. Cecilia’s Hall. Origami butterflies and jungle-animal cut-outs lurked on the walls, while vines woven with string-lights hung above the dance floor. Students gathered in this jungle setting for the evening’s entertainment, in which Anna Van Wijk (’24) channeled fellow New Zealander Steve Irwin on a documentary tour of the Scholar’s Glen (which looked suspiciously like TAC-California).
The dancing took off in waves of excitement, with a live student band playing a little bit of everything — jazz, swing, and Latin. As in New England, the Californians put their dance talents on display — with Baylor Gee and Francesca Vercillo (both ’24) taking first in the rumba and salsa competitions, and Bella Sanchez (’23) and Gregory Roberts (’25) in the tango.

With these joyful celebrations concluded, the students of Thomas Aquinas College prepare to take to the Lenten road in search of the deeper joys of Easter.
