Orion LaCour (CA’22)Hailing from Lomita, California, Orion LaCour (CA’22) has the special privilege of being a prefect this summer for the High School Program on both coasts. This will be his first summer at the New England campus, though he previously served on the California campus for the last two years.

“I really enjoyed the dorm party,” Orion recalls. “It was great getting to know the guys and hang out with them.” The College’s residential life provides an environment for students to bond and grow in fellowship with their peers — an essential ingredient when searching for truth with others.

“Read the material well, and think about the readings because they bring up really important things,” Orion urges the program’s attendees. “But don’t forget to have fun, too.” A good reminder to remain balanced! Contemplation is an important step in preparing for classes: Consideration of the Great Books and the ideas they say contain and often will lead to deeper personal discovery. These discoveries can then be shared with others, whether inside the classroom or over a meal with friends.

Brimming with excitement to share TAC with so many prospective students, Orion is currently enjoying time with his family before coming to Santa Paula — and then Northfield — for four straight weeks of Summer Program greatness!
