Mikaela Heal (’21)

“I fell in love with TAC solely because of this summer program, and this will be my last time working it,” says Mikaela Heal (’21), a two-time past prefect and a member of the College’s newest graduating class. “I’m excited to have the chance to return a final time, to invite the programmers into this community and an experience that will change their lives.”

Originally from Tucson, Mikaela will be moving to Scottsdale, Arizona, this fall after her October wedding to 2021 classmate and fellow prefect Dillon Raum. Until then she plans to grow her online business, Tangle and Poke, where she sells hand-stitched botanical, religious, and embroidery art.

“My favorite part of attending the Summer Program was the community and spiritual vibrancy, which I immediately felt,” Mikaela recalls. As a prefect, she loves “connecting with attendees and sharing TAC’s offerings and community with them,” adding that it is “delightful to see their hearts and minds moved by Adoration and classes, as well as their joy in building friendships with other truth-seekers.”

Mikaela is eager to welcome students to the California campus in just 10 days, and she has an important piece of advice for them: “Trust me, leave your phone in your room. The time will fly by, and you’ll want to be totally present for every second.”
