A mudslide that has shut down both lanes on Highway 150 between the College’s California campus and Santa Paula. Although the California Department of Transportation has begun preparations for clearing the roadway, officials do not expect to finish the work before sometime this summer. Therefore, if you will be traveling to campus from points south, please be sure to give yourself enough time to navigate the detour route, which will take you along Highways 126, 101, and 33. Just Four Days Until the California Summer Program!
A few prefects were on campus today to tend to some last-minute preparations for this year’s California High School Summer Program, which begins Sunday!
Students who are coming to campus via plane, look out for prefects — dressed in the maroon t-shirts they are wearing in the above photo — by your baggage claim at LAX. For those who will be traveling by car, please arrive on campus between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Parents are invited to a brief welcome meeting and tour, which will begin at 4:00 p.m. A barbeque will follow at 5:00 p.m., and a Traveler’s Mass will be offered at 6:30 p.m.
Throughout the program, the Summer Program Blog will feature regular updates, usually twice a day, including photos, slideshows, and stories about what is going on both in and outside the classrooms. These updates will also be shared on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. See you Sunday!
