UPDATE: In light of the ongoing rainstorms and mudslides in Santa Barbara County, the Most Rev. Robert Barron has postponed the post-Thomas Fire Mass of Thanksgiving that was scheduled to take place at Thomas Aquinas College on Wednesday, January 10. A new date for the Mass will be announced after the dangers have subsided.

Please pray for the affected residents in Bishop Barron’s pastoral region, Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties.

The Most Rev. Robert E. Barron, Auxiliary Bishop of Los Angeles, will offer the 5:00 p.m. Mass in Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel, after which he will join the community for dinner, then offer words of wisdom to the College’s students at a Q&A session.

Thomas Aquinas College Founding President Dr. Ronald McArthur often tells of an exchange he once had with a student many years ago when the student wanted to know who might have the answer to a very difficult philosophical question. “Well, you would go ask your bishop for the answer,” he replied.

“What if he doesn’t know?”

“Then you would ask the Pope.”

“What if the Pope doesn’t know?”

“Well, you would have to ask God.”

The student couldn’t resist. “What if God doesn’t know?”
