On Wednesday, the newest students of Thomas Aquinas College — the Class of 2028 — arrived on the California campus. Admissions staff, prefects, and faculty warmly welcomed members of the Freshman Class to the College, where they will begin a new chapter of their lives. “We’re all just so excited to meet everyone!” said Admissions Counselor Anna Van Wijk (’24). The freshmen, accompanied by parents and siblings, spent the afternoon moving into their residence halls and meeting roommates, classmates, and future friends.

Later in the afternoon, students and families took a tour of the campus and attended Mass in Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel. In the evening, all gathered for a barbeque, getting to know each other over a picnic dinner on the lawn outside St. Bernardine of Siena Library. The freshmen and their siblings ended the evening with sundaes and conversation at an ice-cream social, while parents attended an orientation meeting and a reception with the faculty on St. Gladys Patio.

For the freshmen, Orientation will continue throughout the week, with plenty more opportunities to get further acquainted, have fun, and settle in before the academic year officially begins at Monday’s Convocation.
