Early Saturday morning, a large group of TAC-New England students, faculty members, and their families headed up to Montpelier, Vermont, for the 50th Annual Vermont March for Life. The trip to Vermont’s capital took two hours, but the time passed quickly, filled with delightful conversation and beautiful scenery from the snow-covered New England mountains.

The group converged at St. Augustine Church in Montpelier, where members attended a Rosary for Life and Mass with the Most Rev. Christopher J. Coyne, Bishop of Burlington. Afterward, they gathered in the church’s parking lot with the other marchers, who welcomed TAC’s presence. “It’s wonderful to see so many young people who care about the sanctity of life,” one man said. “I hope you all can inspire more to do the same.”

The March began a few minutes later. TAC students paraded under their banner, smiling and waving at passersby, doing their best to spread charity and kindness. As they trekked down the main street to the Vermont State House, they sang Marian hymns and chants, voices echoing off the surrounding brick buildings. The entire group of peaceful marchers, about 200 in total, congregated on the steps of the Capitol, where they sang the National Anthem and thanked the event’s organizers.

Afterward, the group made its way to the Capitol Plaza Hotel for lunch and attended a pro-life presentation with other students. The group then began the drive back to campus, tired from the long day, but full of joy from helping to spread awareness of the innate dignity and value of human life.
