Students carol outside Planned ParenthoodOn Saturday afternoon some 20 Thomas Aquinas College students gathered at the Ventura Planned Parenthood to sing Christmas Carols, “spreading the joy of Christ,” as senior Rachel Rivera described it, “to those who are blind to the joy of birth.” In an effort to encourage hope, the group, organized by junior Ryan Uchison, began by singing several prepared carols such as, “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” “Silent Night,” and “O Come All Ye Faithful.” When those were through, the carolers continued with other songs, sung from memory, such as, “Do You Hear What I Hear,” “The Little Drummer Boy,” and “The 12 Days of Christmas.” Finally, they closed with the Salve Regina, after which a few members remained to pray the Rosary.

Hail the heav’n-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Ris’n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing
“Glory to the newborn King!”
