Many students look forward to the annual spring play, both those who participate and those in the audience. “It’s a lot of work to put on,” said Teresa Bingham (’26), the assistant director. “But it is so rewarding to see it all come together.” The production brings together students who might not otherwise interact frequently, such as upper and underclassmen, or students in different class sections. “This was my first time acting,” said Peter Doylend (’28). “It was such a great experience to build camaraderie with fellow students.” Olivia Music Hall was packed as students and faculty crowded in to watch. “I had no idea how talented the student actors are,” said Brendan Seeley (’27). “Ethan Connolly (‘27) blew me away as Leontes!”
In addition to being a theater-viewing experience, The Winter’s Tale forged new friendships between students, and the time spent together backstage formed a connection that continued after the curtain closed. “It’s not just about the acting and the show,” said Will Rosa (’27). “It’s about creating something beautiful for the community.”
