The TAC-New England soccer season has come to an end. After an eventful fall with amazing teams and thrilling games, the men’s and women’s leagues recently hosted their final two matches.

In the women’s finale, Team Anne Berquist (’23) faced off against Team Niamh McCann (’23). Berquist’s squad was on fire, taking the lead almost immediately. Claire Howard (’26) was the top scorer, making four goals — more than any other player. By the end of the first half, the score was 4-2, with Berquist in the lead. McCann’s team was determined to catch up but couldn’t break Berquist’s stellar defense. The game ended with two more goals from Berquist, making the final score 6-2.

Then, it was the men’s turn. Team Thomas Rust (’24) faced Team David Carey (’23). Kevin Guinee (’25) of Team Rust scored the first half’s only goal, sending the ball right over the head of the goalie Matthew Witzaney (’23). For the second half, the teams went back and forth, stealing the ball from each other. Team Carey upped its attack, but Team Rust kept its opponents’ shots from ever finding their way into the net. The final score was 1-0, Team Rust, who cheered voraciously before thanking the competition for a good game and a great season.
