Register Profiles Recent TAC Graduates about Career Success

A new story in the National Catholic Register features two members of Thomas Aquinas College’s most recent graduating class, highlighting their professional success — and the ways their alma mater has prepared them for it.

In the article, alumna author Sophia (Mason ’09) Feingold tells the story of numerous alumni at Catholic colleges and universities, who, by being proactive in their career search, found themselves good jobs after graduation. One such example is David Ivory (CA’24), who joined the student business club in his freshman year and became its president by the time he was a sophomore. Mr. Ivory currently works as a technical associate for Starr Insurance, a job he had already lined up by January of his senior year.

“The students did an awesome job of cultivating a club that encouraged fellow students to put in the work every week,” says Mr. Ivory in the article, “but it was a perfect storm, honestly. The College just had a fantastic career adviser that was able to connect and build this relationship with the students and get them jobs.”

Mrs. Feingold also features Jack Gardner (CA’24), another member of the student business club, who was unsure how to begin his job search. With the help of TAC’s career adviser, Mr. Gardner found the guidance and direction he was looking for and was able to readjust his résumé and mindset to fit his goals. Now, he works at McMaster Carr, a hardware and industrial supplier, where he is a research and management trainee.

“We always recommend that our students participate in job fairs and career-prep workshops, as well as take advantage of the College’s alumni networks,” says Chris Weinkopf, executive director of college relations. “Their success confirms the College’s long-standing conviction that our academic program prepares graduates for any professional endeavor.”
