Mr. and Mrs. Meyers on their 50th wedding anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Meyers on their 50th wedding anniversary

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Yvonne Meyers of Fillmore, California, who passed away on June 4, as well as for her husband, Lucian, who died in 2009. The Meyers were generous friends of Thomas Aquinas College and members of the St. Thérèse of Lisieux Legacy Society.

With a pioneering and visionary spirit, Mr. and Mrs. Meyers became benefactors of the College in its earliest years, when the school was still operating on a rented campus in Calabasas. In one of their first correspondence with College officials, they wrote, “It is a pleasure and a privilege to be of assistance to you people in this most interesting and promising education program.”

Whereas most observers of TAC in its early days saw only a tiny, undercapitalized school facing tremendous odds, the Meyers recognized God’s hand at work. The couple witnessed the founding of the College’s first permanent campus on the old Ferndale Ranch property in the hills above Santa Paula, where their son Peter remembers fishing as a boy. Their legacy now lives on in the gift of education which, through their lasting support, they will continue to provide to young men and women on both coasts for generations to come.
