Inter-Class Volleyball

TAC-California students met up in the Pope St. John Paul II Athletic Center on Saturday for the 2024 Class Volleyball Tournament. Four teams representing each class — freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors — vied in games throughout the day to see which class would claim the title of champion.

The seniors and freshmen competed against each other in the day’s first game, followed by a match between the juniors and sophomores after lunch. The underclassmen squads both won their games, impressing all with their talent on the court, and moved on to the last showdown of the day: freshmen versus sophomores.

As the two teams faced off in the finale, spectators watched and encouraged them from the sidelines. “It’s great to see the teams from different classes come together and find camaraderie with each other, while also bonding with their whole class, who are cheering them on in a positive way,” said freshman Riley Edwards (’28).

The freshmen won the first set of the game, and the sophomores the second, leading to a final tense, tie-breaking set. In the end, the freshmen won, proving their prowess as volleyball players to the rest of the school! “It was really fun coming together, both as a class and as a team,” said Joe Weinkopf (’28) following the freshmen’s triumphant win.
