This winter’s desperately needed rains have somewhat set back construction for the College’s next building, St. Cecilia Lecture and Concert Hall, but work still continues.

“The building is progressing well,” says Vice President for Finance and Administration Peter L. DeLuca. “Most of what is happening now is framing, but electrical and HVAC work have also begun. We have put up half of the high roof trusses and the other half should go up in a week or so. This means the building will soon be fully enclosed, and workers will be able to begin drywall.”

Set to open its doors in 2017, St. Cecilia Hall will be the fourteenth building constructed since the College acquired its campus in the 1970s. Situated on the southwest corner of the academic quadrangle, adjacent to St. Gladys Hall and Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel, the building will host the biweekly events that make up the St. Vincent DePaul Lecture and Concert Series.

Mr. DeLuca estimates that construction will be complete in late September.
