Escaping the (slightly) colder evenings of the California autumn, students gathered in the Dumb Ox Café Friday night for game night, complete with hot cocoa and Nutella:

The next day, some 20 Thomas Aquinas College students joined Dean Brian T. Kelly and Chaplain Rev. Paul Raftery, O.P, for an educational tour of one of Los Angeles’ finest art museums, led by an expert guide — College Governor Maria O. Grant.

The visit to the Getty Center was part of an ongoing series of museum trips arranged, sponsored, and directed by Mrs. Grant, who is a Museum Educator at the Norton Simon Museum and previously served as an Overseer at the Huntington Library in San Marino. The tours, which focus on works of art that bear a connection to the literary works students read in the College’s classical curriculum, are quickly becoming a beloved College tradition. Mrs. Grant first began leading them in 2010 in order to supplement the College’s curriculum and because, as she put it, “We have access to some of the best museums in the world.”
