Video: Sean Goodridge (’19) Recalls Thomas Fire Evacuation
The Telegraph-Herald of Dubuque, Iowa, recently featured a video interview, as well as an accompanying article, about Thomas Aquinas College junior Sean Goodridge’s experience of the Thomas Fire. In the video, Sean, a resident of Cuba City, Iowa, discusses how he and his fellow students were quickly evacuated from campus on the first night, shortly after the fire began.
“Everything around campus was torched,” Sean tells reporter Allie Hinga in the news story (behind paywall). “But campus was fine, which is miraculous.” Referencing the statue of the Blessed Mother that stands atop Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel, he added, “Everything within the reach of her arms was still plush and green.”
