Above is the homily delivered at the funeral Mass of the recently departed U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. The homilist is Rev. Paul Scalia, son of Justice Scalia, Episcopal Vicar for Clergy in the Diocese of Arlington, Virginia, and the chaplain of the College’s Washington, D.C., Board of Regents.

“Jesus Christ, Son of the Father, born of the Virgin Mary, crucified, buried, risen, seated at the right hand of the Father,” notes Fr. Scalia, “it is because of Him, because of His life, death, and Resurrection that we do not mourn as as those who have no hope, but in confidence we commend Antonin Scalia to the mercy of God.”

Please continue to pray for the repose of Justice Scalia’s soul and the consolation of his family
