Dr. McArthur was back in the hospital for two days, diagnosed with severe anemia. He received three blood transfusions and is now back home. The doctors have yet to find the cause of the anemia, so we ask your prayers that the cause be pinpointed, and a treatment possible. Dr. McArthur is relying on your help.

Dr. McArthur has been in intensive care since Thursday, undergoing tests. His spirits are good, and he is looking forward to coming home in a few days. He will not be allowed any visitors. The best way to help him is through your prayers, for which he thanks you.

Dr. McArthur’s family writes:
“After a month of being in the Valley of the Shadow of Death and hovering on the edge of Eternity, Ron has made astounding progress in the last five days. We now have every hope that he will recover and be counted once more among the living. We think that he’ll be walking fairly soon, which will be a good start to regaining his strength and mobility. He was able to go out to Mass this Saturday for the first time since the beginning of August, a milestone which has had us smiling in thankfulness all morning.
“He has begun to answer your many e-mails, notes, and cards and hopes eventually to thank each of you in turn. Until then, he prays for all who pray for him.
“We date his recovery to our beginning, as a family, to pray the Golden Arrow Prayer in front of a picture of the Suffering Face of Our Lord. May the name of God be praised!”

Dr. McArthur made it home for his birthday (September 22) and is now on a very long road to recovery. Given numerous therapist visits, dialysis, and doctors appointments, as well as extreme fatigue, his family asks for no visitors at this time. Thank you for your continued prayers!

After a week of aggressive treatments, Dr. McArthur’s doctors are optimistic that he is finally on the road to recovery. It is now up to him to begin eating and walking so that he may regain his strength and come home. He seems very willing to give it a try. Please pray that he succeeds and gets home by his birthday, next Saturday. Thank you.

Dr. McArthur’s doctors think they made some progress this weekend in treating his many complications, but he is still very weak and in need of prayers. He is very grateful for all your notes, cards, concerns, and prayers; and he is sorry he can't answer all of them. You are in his prayers everyday.

Thomas Aquinas College’s founding president, Dr. Ronald P. McArthur, continues to suffer complications from his heart surgery. He is extremely weak and very discouraged. Good news! Dr. McArthur's surgery went better than expected, and the doctors were able to do all they needed to do. He is now in CCU recovering. Please pray now for a speedy and complete recovery.
