By the main door of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel, the chaplains of Thomas Aquinas College maintain a collections box marked “for the missions,” the proceeds of which go to the Missionaries of Charity in Nairobi, Kenya, under the care of Rev. Raymond Walsh, M.C. Periodically Fr. Ray sends letters to College Chaplain Rev. Cornelius M. Buckley, S.J., informing him of the various ways that the Missionaries have been able to put the College’s donations to use. His latest letter contains some wonderful news:

The other day, we agreed in our community meeting to pay for a heart operation for an 11-year-old child. It will cost 110,000 shillings ($1,170), but the family needs 90,000. Normally, this is beyond our budget but, because of the donation which the students sent several months back, we are able to help them. Please thank the students and let them know that their help goes a long way.

Thanks be to God! Please pray for the health of this child, the child’s family, Fr. Ray, his confreres, and all those they serve.
