John Schmitt
John S. Schmitt, a former tutor at Thomas Aquinas College, passed away on August 22, 2012, the Feast of the Queenship of Mary. Mr. Schmitt taught at the College from 1974 to 1979, after which he founded the Trivium School, a residential high school offering a classical curriculum in Lancaster, Mass. Many Trivium graduates have gone on to attend the College, just as many of the College’s alumni have gone on to teach at Trivium. Mr. Schmitt and his wife, Louise, are also the parents of seven Thomas Aquinas College alumni: Julia (Six ’81), Nicholas (’82), Sr. Mary Juliana, O.Cist. (’86), Stephanie (Langley ’89), Carl (’90), Samuel (’92), and Clare (Metilly ’94).

Please pray for the repose of his soul and the consolation of his family.
