“Given our commitment to the Catholic faith, and given our desire to really model and testify to that commitment to our students and our broader community, we decided to oppose the HHS Mandate and to do whatever we could within the legal system to combat it,” said Thomas Aquinas College President Michael F. McLean on a recent radio interview.

Dr. McLean was the guest of host Molly Smith on Friday’s episode of From the Median on the Salem Radio Network's WHK in Cleveland. There he discussed the College’s mission and history, and then described its ongoing litigation over the federal mandate that compels Catholic institutions to provide contraceptive, abortifacient, and sterilization coverage to their employees. “Our faith commitment is foundational in our lives and foundational here at the College. It animates everything we do,” said Dr. McLean. “It’s very important to our mission that we model our fidelity to the Church and our fidelity to Christ, and that is what we are trying to do in this particular battle.”
