The next up in our series of profiles about the prefects for the 2022 High School Summer Program is Orion Lacour, currently a senior on the California campus .

Anna hails from distant shores — though in her case, from a wholly different hemisphere. “I am from Auckland, New Zealand, the biggest city in New Zealand,” Anna tells us. “But my mom is from Minnesota, so I’m half-American.”

Last week we introduced Dillon Raum (’21), the head men’ prefect for the California program. Today we are going to meet current senior Hope Ascough, who will be Dillon’s counterpart at the prefecting helm. 

The wheels are in motion for the 2022 High School Summer Program! Although there are many essential components, perhaps the most crucial part of every program is the panoply of prefects who keep things running smoothly and, most importantly, help participants make the most of their two weeks at Thomas Aquinas College. 

“Growing up and in high school, I always thought there were two kinds of people: good Catholics, and people who are fun,” says Max Tittmann, repeating a story that’s been told many times by alumni of Thomas Aquinas College’s High School Summer Program. 

Last July, I spent two weeks in Santa Paula, California at Thomas Aquinas College’s Great Books Summer Program. … Looking back, I can’t even imagine what my life would be like now if I hadn’t gone.

For students on the 2021 New England High School Summer Program, Wednesday began with Mass and breakfast, and then it was off to the classrooms for a second day of presenting Euclidean propositions!
