Over the weekend, Dominican friars from St. Dominic’s Priory in San Francisco, Calif., visited campus to meet with students who may be contemplating religious vocations. Among those visiting were two recent graduates of the College, Br. Thomas Sundaram (’09) and Br. Mason Peddemors (’12). The friars met informally with students throughout the weekend and hosted a well-attended presentation Saturday morning, at which they described their vocational experiences and answered questions. Photos from that session, courtesy of Annalisa Tombelli (’16), are available in the slideshow below:
Approximately 10 percent of Thomas Aquinas College alumni pursue priestly and/or religious vocations , with 58 alumni priests currently serving in dioceses and religious communities throughout the world.
In 2007, the Congregation for Catholic Education’s Office for Vocations asked then-College president Dr. Thomas E. Dillon to give an account for this phenomenon — why do so many priestly and religious vocations come from Thomas Aquinas College? The results of that inquiry can be found here.
