This past weekend, retired tutor Dr. Carol Day and the College’s resident assistant, Jeannette Richard (’17), led a women’s campout in the Los Padres National Forest:

The crew hiked the Matilija Canyon trail on Saturday, joined by Head Library Richena Curphey and her pet llama. (“That got a great reaction from everyone we passed!” laughs Miss Richard.) The campers then cooked hot dogs, roasted marshmallows, delighted in conversation, and spent the night in the wilderness. The next morning Head Chaplain Rev. Paul Raftery visited the campsite and offered Mass, after which the women enjoyed a pancake breakfast, then hiked up the Cozy Dell trail.
