(August 7, 2006)

The official biographer of the late Pope John Paul II will be the keynote speaker when Thomas Aquinas College celebrates its 35th anniversary with a benefit dinner at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Keynote speaker George Weigel is also author of "God's Choice: Pope Benedict XVI" and the "Future of the Catholic Church." KABC-TV newsman Jim Newman will serve as master of ceremonies; Cardinal Roger Mahony of Los Angeles will deliver the invocation, and Bishop Allen Vigneron will close the evening with a benediction.

The events will begin at 5 p.m. A cocktail reception begins at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The Johnny Crawford Band will play dance music after dinner.
