“The music that our choir performs is very much in keeping with the kind of excellence we’re introducing them to in the classroom,” says Thomas Aquinas College President Michael F. McLean in the above video, Praying Twice: The Thomas Aquinas College Choir. “We have always wanted to provide our students with the best music possible to help them grow in the moral life and grow in their appreciation of truly beautiful things.”

The newly released video examines the history of the Choir and how it has helped to elevate the true, the good, and the beautiful in the life of the College. Produced by alumnus filmmaker André Fox (’05), it also looks at the blessed relationship between the College and the Grimm family of Pasadena, California, whose members established the Choir back at the College’s founding in 1971 and have filled its ranks as singers, organists, and directors ever since.

Indeed, a good number of Grimm voices can be heard on the Choir’s newly released album, Hodie: Music for Christmas, directed by Dan Grimm (’76). The album is now available for purchase via the College Bookstore.
