On June 15, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart, the Church will observe the World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests. Catholics throughout the world will seek God's blessing and protection for His holy ministers, and leading the way will be Berni Neal, a member of the Board of Governors of Thomas Aquinas College.

Mrs. Neal recently appeared on EWTN Live (see video above) to discuss the Third Annual Global Rosary Relay, organized by WorldPriest, for which she is a consultant. In 60 shrines across the country, the faithful will pray mysteries of the Rosary at various intervals throughout the 24-hour period. The prayers will be offered to God in thanksgiving for all priests, as well as to seek the loving care of Our Lady for her priestly sons. The idea behind the Rosary Relay, as its website explains, is that by the end of June 15, “the entire world … will have been encircled in prayer for our priests.”

“Berni has a deep love for the Church, and especially for the priesthood,” says Dr. Michael F. McLean, president of Thomas Aquinas College. “We are edified by her devotion and leadership, and we urge Catholics everywhere to participate in this important day of prayer.”
