On Saturday, June 11, Thomas Aquinas College hosted the annual Legatus-Aquinas Forum. Some 15 members of the Ventura-North Los Angeles Chapters of Legatus, the international organization of Catholic business executives, participated in the event, which took place on campus.

The day began in Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel, where College Chaplain Rev. Cornelius M. Buckley, S.J., offered Mass. Recent graduate Sean Donnelly (’16) assisted Fr. Buckley at the altar as an acolyte, and student Giorgio Navarini (’17) served as the cantor and organist.

Following the Mass, the Legates, who included Thomas Aquinas College governors, regents, and alumni, met for a 90-minute seminar conducted in the Discussion Method, as are all classes at the College. President Michael F. McLean and Vice President for Development Paul J. O’Reilly led the conversation, which focused on St. Thomas Aquinas’ reflection On Homicide from the Summa Theologiae.

The conversation continued over lunch, which Dr. and Mrs. McLean hosted at the Doheny Hacienda, the official residence of Thomas Aquinas College’s president. There, Dr. McLean presented a short talk, summarizing key points from the readings.
