The steps to request financial aid and the respective deadlines are outlined on the coversheet to the Confidential Family Financial Statement.

2016-17 Confidential Family Financial Statement (C.F.F.S.):

  • The CFFS is used to determine a student's eligibility for Thomas Aquinas College’s need-based Service Scholarship program (work-study) and the College''s need-based grant program. The CFFS is a fillable form. After completing the form, print it, sign it and send it to the Financial Aid Office by mail, email (scanned copy) or fax.

2016-17 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA):

The FAFSA is used to determine a student’s eligibility for federal/state grants and federal loans. It is also required of all U.S. citizens and permanent residents seeking institutional aid from the college. If you filed your 2015 federal taxes prior to completing your FAFSA you are encouraged to use the "IRS Data Retrieval Tool," available on the FAFSA website, to fill in all of the tax-related questions. (If you have not yet filed your 2015 federal taxes, use estimated tax information, if necessary, to meet application deadlines for the Cal Grant or institutional aid. Enter your final tax information later when your return is completed.)

2016-17 Cal Grant Application:

California residents may be eligible for a $9,084 Cal Grant award. The application filing deadline is March 2, 2016 (postmark deadline). File early to avoid problems. Remember, it takes TWO forms to complete a Cal Grant application by March 2nd: a Cal Grant GPA Verification Form and a 2016-17 FAFSA.

See How to Apply for the Cal Grant for more information or contact the Financial Aid Office at Thomas Aquinas College with any questions you may have about the Cal Grant application process. We will be happy to help you.

2016-17 Noncustodial Parent Statement (NPS):

If an applicant's parents are separated or divorced, the NPS must be completed by the noncustodial parent. The NPS is a fillable form. After completing the form, print it, sign it and send it to the Financial Aid Office by mail, email (scanned copy) or fax.

Private Education Loan Self-Certification form:

A lender disbursing a private education loan must obtain a self-certification signed by the applicant before disbursing a private education loan. We make that form available here:
